New ice cream flavors. Faster mobile networks. Tasty burgers. Game-changing smartphones. Memory-preserving digital photo books. Endurance fundraising events. Smart home tech. Apps to protect your family. The first after-market fully integrated car diagnostic and protection system. Mobile plans that make the industry think differently.

KLC Communications has been behind all of the above in the past 20 years. It has also worked on some of the biggest consumer tech launches in the past two decades, working with companies like Verizon, Google, Motorola, and more. Here are a few examples.

New Product Category: Palm

In October 2018, Verizon introduced Palm, a companion to your smartphone and an exclusive to Verizon. Palm is about the size of a credit card and specially designed for life on the go, letting you live in the moment, without sacrificing connectivity.

The launch generated media coverage in top-tier consumer, lifestyle, sports and tech media, driving nearly 200,000 visits to the website in the first four days. During that time, more than 20,000 customers signed up to be notified as soon as it became available. Positive media and social sentiment each were greater than 88%.

New Network: LTE Advanced

We don’t just know consumer products at KLC Communications, we have a deep history with technology too. When Verizon upgraded its network to LTE Advanced, it helped solidify Verizon as the network technology leader.

We generated nearly 100 news stories across business, consumer and industry trade outlets, which were more than 80% positive in tone.

New Product: Verizon Unlimited

The strategy to introduce Verizon Unlimited to the world centered around the element of surprise and going big. The launch generated more than 500,000 page views of the news story in the first four days, and media sentiment was 80% positive.

When thinking about the biggest “selling season” of the year, Verizon wanted to do something different. We developed a “smart holiday home” theme to promote gifts everyone on your holiday shopping list.

To kick off the campaign, we created and outfitted a physical space in New York, creating the “Verizon Holiday House” where we hosted media. Reporters from Fortune, Good Housekeeping, Newsweek, Elite Daily, US Weekly, Huffington Post and more stopped by the house to check out the latest in mobile and smart home gadgets.

At the house, we also engaged Laverne Cox and secured in-depth articles in Elite Daily and US Weekly as well as a story in the NY Post’s Page Six, which linked to Verizon’s product pages, plus a dozen other stories in celebrity lifestyle outlets, such as OK! Magazine and Star. Through our engagement with Cox, we were able to drive a click-through rate of nearly double the average to our product purchase pages.

Throughout the holiday season, we secured top-tier coverage around our holiday gifts and promos in outlets including TODAY.com, Real Simple, Self, BuzzFeed, Reader’s Digest, TIME, Huffington Post, CNET, PC Mag, The Verge, Ars Technica – all linking back to our product pages where consumers could click to buy the products.

Finally, we designed a broadcast integration with EXTRA! to outfit AJ Calloway’s house with smart home tech and the latest gifts for the holidays.
