Generative Red Team (GRT) Challenge at DEF CON 31
KLC Communications led communications for the Generative Red Team (GRT) Challenge - the largest-ever public red team event designed to advance artificial intelligence (AI) and better understand the risks and limitations of AI at scale. Designed around the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy's (OSTP) Blueprint for an AI Bill of Rights, the GRT Challenge reinforced OSTP’s five principles to protect the American public in the age of artificial intelligence.
At DEF CON 31, the GRT Challenge drew 2,244 people to test AI generative large language models (LLM) built by Anthropic, Cohere, Google, Hugging Face, Meta, NVIDIA, OpenAI, and Stability AI, with participation from Microsoft. KLC Communications secured more than 40 tier-one media stories, in publications such as The New York Times, Fortune, CNN, CNBC, The Wall Street Journal, Politico, and more.
